Peter Stroud - Bass Guitar (1996-1999)
Peter joined Ruthless Blues in May 1996 just in time to undertake a ten day trip to the Isle of Man where the band had a number of engagements during the TT races. Prior to this he had often "depped" for the band when required, so was familiar with a lot of the band's set.
Peter was widely experienced in different styles of music having worked extensively making jingles and doing other session work. He had also been a member of several well known bands including, Roger Chapman & The Shortlist; The Moody Marsden Band; Chris Thompson Band (Manfred Mann lead singer); Toyah Wilcox; Paul Williams' Blue Thunder, as well as London bands Steve Waller's Overload; Chuck Farley; Sparring Partners; and the RayMinnhinnet Band.
He had also appeared with Gary Brooker; Frankie Miller; Chris Farlowe; Roy Wood; Mungo Jerry (TV); Pete Cox (Pre Go West); and Snowy White.
While working with Ruthless Blues, Peter had also been involved in the early days of what was to become Peter Green's Splinter Group. As interest in the latter grew, a number of overseas tours and recording sessions were arranged and Peter was eventually forced to leave Ruthless Blues to enable him to fulfil these commitments, although he does occasionally still "dep" for the band.
Peter has the unusual distinction of having played in the Falkland Islands where he formed part of Jim Davidson's backing band.
He has also worked as a demonstrator for Korg & Marshall at London & Frankfurt Music Fairs
