The Riverboat Shuffles!
During the mid-90's Ruthless Blues played a series of special once-a-year "Riverboat Shuffles" on the River Thames. These obviously fitted in nicely with the band's fun, fun, fun philosophy.
Cruising up and down the Thames under the floodlit bridges on a hot summer's evening with the roof of the boat open and the band in full swing was an absolutely fantastic experience and these gigs were always, without question, the highlights of the band's year. So much so that people came from far and wide to enjoy them.
Sadly, the boat's owners got taken over by a bigger company and the new owners weren't interested in continuing the "arrangement" that we had with the previous owners. The cost of putting on the event subsequently became prohibitive and we reluctantly decided to stop. Even now, we still get people asking whether there will ever be any more riverboat shuffles but it is extremely unlikely. But, it was great fun while it lasted as the photographs (to be added below) amply demonstrate.
